Why AMP?
Austin is known worldwide as the Live Music Capital of the World – for its iconic venues, musicians, events, culture, and for its support of the creative class. For all of these reasons and so many more, Austin is home for creatives from all over the world.
The Austin Music economy is strong and growing. In fact, some of the most dramatic growth has been experienced in the last 5 years. Unfortunately, Austin has no business plan to support its continued claim as the Live Music Capital of the World, and no central organization to support the music community’s growth.
This is where AMP comes in.
The AMP project will be a diverse and wide-ranging way to protect and enhance our Music culture, and to make sure our interests are represented in a clear, proactive, and productive way.
Being an AMP member will finally give you, your business, your band, and your group a voice when you need it most. Whether it be industry opportunities, sound issues, partnerships, small business growth, housing, insurance, innovation, or charities – Austin needs a central source and forum for fielding these issues.
Advancing the success of each part of the music culture and economy advances all of us. AMP is dedicated to making sure that all voices are heard, and to helping our vibrant music community work productively with each other, with our local government, and with other stakeholders throughout the community.
Austin, Texas has needed an organization like AMP for many years.
